KIDS
LTAD stages Active Start and FUNdamentals
Ages 4 – 8 Wed & Fri from 5 – 6 pm; Ages 5 – 12 Mon Tue & Thu 5:30 pm
These martial art classes are geared to teaching Agility, Balance, Co-ordination and FUNdamentals in a supportive environment with master instructors. In addition, we emphasize suppleness and speed using optimal training zone concepts from our LTAD guide. We use BOSU™ balancers, Thera-band™ exercise balls and other equipment to give extra challenges to these students. Basic taekwondo movement skills are included.
Youth
LTAD stages Learn to Train
Ages 9-12 Mon, Tue & Thu from 5:30 -6:30 pm and Wed & Fri Kids and Youth from 6 – 7 pm
These taekwondo classes are geared to teaching the same fundamentals as in the KIDS program, but emphasizing skill which is optimal for this age range. Target kicking and punching, the use of nunchucks for hand eye coordination and stimulation of upper body joint lubrication form part of these sessions. Specific martial arts techniques, and poomsae are taught during some of these classes. LTAD emphasis on skills based on developmental and chronological age.
Family
LTAD stages Active Start, FUNdamentals, Train to Train
Ages 4-75 Mon to Fri from 7-8 pm and Sat 10 – noon
Our martial arts school is geared to a wide range of training needs and cover every aspect of taekwondo except advanced kyorugi (sparring) skills. Families may train together and share the taekwondo experience. Single students are also welcome during these classes.
High Performance
LTAD stage Train to Compete, Learn to Win, Train to Win
Ages 9 – 35 or black belt Mon 7:30 – 8:30 pm; Wed & Fri kyorugi focus 8 – 9 pm, Tue Thu 7:30 – 8:30 pm poomsae focus {Train to Train students attend the Mon and/or Wed 7 pm class} Sat 12:30 – 2:30 pm scheduled from time to time based on requirements.
These self-defense classes are targeted only to competition oriented students. Some younger students who have shown real aptitude may also attend. A commitment to train hard and compete in local tournaments is the minimum requirement. We use electronic scoring-both daedo and KPNP, Dartfish video analysis, athlete tracking for these sessions when appropriate. Overhead cameras for transverse view of motion, KICKAI sensors, Microstrain accelerometer use, Pasco force plates synchronized to multi screen video is a feature not used by any other taekwondo schools. We develop written detailed annual plans for serious athlets from any school. Additional Saturday boot camp class available for this group.
